The holidays are just around the corner and for most of us, that means lots of cooking, baking, shopping, dinners and visits from friends and family.
My favorite part of the holiday season is seeing my family and baking up a bunch of goodies for everyone to enjoy. I was sent the new Wilton Cookie Exchange book to check out and get a sneak peak to share with our readers! If you remember, a few months ago we received the 2010 Wilton Yearbook of Cake Decorating book to check out, that book contained all kinds of great cakes to bake for any occasion you could imagine. The Wilton Cookie Exchange book is all about cookies and cookie decorating for the upcoming holidays.
I have to admit, I absolutely love Wilton. The cake yearbook was the first book I had ever checked from them, but I’m addicted. If the images alone don’t get you in to the mood of the holidays or at least wanting to start baking.. I don’t know what will!
The Wilton Cookie Exchange book contains more than 150 easy and exciting holiday cookie decorating ideas in 6 favorite seasonal shapes—Snowflakes, Trees, Stars, Ornaments, Gingerbread Boys and Spritz. Some of the classic holiday cookie recipes such as gingerbread and shortbread are included as well as tempting new tastes like Butterscotch Chocolate Pecan Bars, Peppermint Ribbon Cookies and Almond Snowballs.
Not only will you find great recipes, you’ll also find tips on hosting your own cookie exchange, suggestions for creating fun, informative invitations, setting ground rules for guests, packaging cookies to look their most festive and more! The Wilton Cookie Exchange will help you coordinate every detail, the book even includes a blueprint section to help you have a successful event.
I enjoyed checking out the great cookie recipes included in the Wilton Cooking Exchange and can’t wait until I’m able to bake up a lot of the goodies included in the book. This is definitely a must have for any baker or something that wants to bake up some great cookies for the upcoming holiday season.
The Wilton Cookie Exchange will be available in October, but you have a chance to win a copy now, before it hits the shelves!
Julie Smith says:
For a very long time (ever since my immediate family of sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, children and grandchildren has become so big as to be almost impossible to buy something for everyone) – my family gifts to my friends and neighbors have been cookies and cookies-in-a-jar. This book would help me when I start baking at the beginning of December
