What Kind of Breakfast Do You Think Goes Best With Coffee?

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day they say, but if you ask me, I think breakfast is the best meal of the day. Why? Because you get to pair it with one of the best beverages in the world, coffee.

Though you can drink coffee any time of the day, breakfast time is one of the best times to drink coffee because it helps power you throughout the day. Its flavor also goes well will an assortment of breakfast foods, making it the ideal breakfast beverage.

If you want to know about the different types of food you can prepare in the morning that would go well with your morning cup of Joe, then you should probably read on. For this article, I will be talking about the different kinds of food that you can eat for breakfast with a nice cup of coffee on the side. Are you ready? Let’s get started!

Quick Breakfasts

If you are thinking about making breakfast as you make your cup of coffee, or if you feel like rushing off to work or to school, then these foods I’m about to mention may be the best choices for you to go with in the morning.

Perhaps the easiest type of breakfast to prepare as you make your coffee would be a simple piece or two of toast. I personally love having toast with coffee because my Keurig K55 coffee maker makes coffee for about the same time my toaster toasts bread. All I have to do is press a button in my coffee maker, place the toast in the toaster and wait for a couple of minutes for my breakfast.

Another quick breakfast you can prepare as your coffee maker brews your coffee is a nice bowl of cereal. If you’re feeling a little adventurous, you can even try putting coffee in your cereal instead of milk. I have actually tried mixing in coffee with some cinnamon toast crunch, and let me tell you, it was surprisingly good!

Flavorful Breakfasts

If you have some time to spare, you may want to try other kinds of breakfast foods that will take you a couple of minutes to prepare in the morning.

One type of breakfast that I love eating while I have my coffee is a nice egg white frittata. An egg white frittata has subtle earthy flavors that I think goes very well with a nice cup of coffee. If you have a coffee maker with programmable functions just like my Keurig K55, you can get a hot cup of coffee with your egg white frittata by starting up the coffee maker when you’re about 5 minutes done from cooking your frittata.

Another flavorful breakfast that goes well with coffee is corned beef hash. You can easily make some corned beef hash with some leftover beef or canned corned beef, potatoes, eggs, and a couple of onions. This is a rather hearty dish that is a delight to munch on. I personally love pairing this dish with a hot cup of coffee because the coffee flavor tones down the hearty flavors of the corned beef.

Sweet Breakfasts

Perhaps my favorite kind of breakfast foods to eat with a hot cup of coffee are those that tickle my sweet tooth. Ever notice how a lot of dessert shops or cafes serve both coffee and sweet delicacies? It’s because those two are a match made in heaven!

To experience a heavenly meal for breakfast, try to pair a batch of pancakes covered in maple syrup or pancakes with fresh fruit and whipped cream with a nice hot cup of coffee. What I like about this combination is that the sweetness of the fruits and maple syrup gets washed out by coffee’s semi-bitter taste. It’s truly a gastronomic experience that I can’t put down in words. You must try it for yourself to see what I’m talking about.

Other sweet breakfast foods that go well with coffee are cinnamon buns, banana bread, and french toast with a little bit of maple syrup.

However, even though sweet foods work perfectly well with coffee, I do suggest that you keep away from eating cake or other types of foods that are very high in sugar in the morning. Eating sugary foods for breakfast may only cause you to have a sugar rush and you may lack energy for the rest of the day even when you drank coffee.

A Quick Recap

There are plenty types of food that you can try to eat for breakfast as you have your morning cup of Joe. If you have a lot of time to spare in your mornings, then you’re pretty lucky because you can easily whip up a nice batch of sweet pancakes or savory meals that pairs nicely with a hot cup of coffee.

However, if you are always in a rush in the morning, you may as well stick to breakfast foods that only take less than 5 minutes to prepare. Getting a nice coffee machine such as my Keurig K55 can also help you do a better job at preparing breakfast since you wouldn’t have to exert a lot of effort into making your cup of coffee.
