Super Easy Chicken in a Biscuit Recipe

I love simple dinner ideas. Chicken in a Biscuit is a quick, easy meal that everyone in your family will love. After all, who doesn’t like cheese and bread, right? There are many variations to this simple recipe, and I recommend doubling it, as most people will want to have at least two. I also added other spices suited to my families taste, including more onion than was called for. To make this even simpler, use canned chicken. If you want to make this recipe lighter, you can use reduced fat cream cheese and skim milk. Pair with lemon broccoli and serve strawberries and cream for dessert for a great meal!

Ingredients:

1 roll of refrigerated crescent rolls
3 to 4oz cream cheese
3 tablespoons butter (reserve 1 tablespoon)
2 cups chicken – diced
¼ teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
Garlic powder to taste
2 tablespoons milk
1 tablespoon finely diced onion
¼ cup Italian style bread crumbs
¼ cup parmesan cheese (optional)

Mix together all ingredients except 1 tablespoon butter, bread crumbs, and parmesan cheese.
When combined, spoon into crescent rolls (approximately one heaping tablespoon per roll) and press edges together to seal closed.
Place completed rolls on lightly oiled cookie sheet, at least 2 inches apart.
Brush rolls with reserved1 tablespoon melted butter and sprinkle with bread crumbs and parmesan cheese.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes or until the crescent rolls are lightly browned.
Let cool five minutes before serving.
