Spring 2017 Blouse Trends

Finally, the days are starting to warm up a bit, which means that it is time to hit the shops and buy some new clothes. As winter gives way to spring, it is time to go out shopping for some new clothes. There is always something different and exciting available as one fashion trend gives way to another one. The start of a new season is always a good time to try out a new look.

For spring 2017, designers have come up with some great blouses, including cuts that have not been widely available for many years. This is great because it gives you the chance to try wearing some of your favourite blouse styles in a different way.

Denim Is Hot

A great example of what I mean is denim shirts and blouses. They have never completely gone out of fashion, but it has been a while since they have been available in so many different cuts.

This year, several designers have opted to use lightweight denim. The blouses made from these fabrics look more feminine and are easy to wear in a variety of ways. Stylish touches like embroidered collars and pockets help you to personalise your wardrobe and stand out from everyone else.

Cap Sleeves

As you would expect, at this time of the year, the majority of the blouses I have seen in the shops feature long sleeves. However, there are also quite a few short-sleeved shirts available as well, including some with cap sleeves, examples of which you can see here.

From the looks of things, sleeveless or cap-sleeved blouses will be one of the key trends for the spring/summer 2017 season. There are already some nice sleeveless shell tops appearing in the shops. Another variation on this theme is the off the shoulder style of top, which many retailers are also starting to stock. This versatile style has not been widely available since the 70s.

Crinkle Blouses and Pintucks

Generously cut crinkle blouses are also popping up in many collections. These casual looking blouses look particularly good when paired with a nice set of jeans.

Kaftans and Tunic Tops

This year, cuts vary widely. However, many of the blouses you will find in spring 2017 collections are tunic style tops. This cut looks especially good on most women. If you are carrying a bit more winter weight around your belly than you would like this style of top is very flattering. The fact it hangs straight down from under the arms means it does not cling around the waist area, which helps to create a more flattering silhouette.

Kaftans are also back in fashion. These are very flattering as well as comfortable. They are cut so that they hang slightly away from the body, which is the perfect way to disguise the muffin top you picked up by eating too much comfort food during the winter months.

As you can see, it does not really matter what style of blouse you are looking for, you are likely to be able to find it either online or in the shops.
