The ERGO Baby Carrier was initially developed out of a personal need when Karin Frost, our owner and designer, had her son in 2001 and created a carrier for him. With the help and feedback from other parents the ERGObaby was born. An immediate market response followed with the ensuing development of its own market based on consumer support and incredible ‘word of mouth’. The market is constantly expanding because its niche, attachment parenting, is in its early phases of growth and recognition.
The ERGO Baby Carrier and accessories is many baby carriers, slings, and strollers consolidated into one product line. It saves the consumer money because they only have to buy one baby carrier for the life of their baby wearing years. It is the most comfortable and physically supportive baby carrier on the market. None of our competitors put the majority of the weight of the baby on the parent’s hips which is the most important weight bearing part of the body.
There are so many different options for babywearing these days that it makes me truly overwhelmed! So, I was really excited when I was given the opportunity by ERGObaby to try out one of their carriers. I have heard the buzz about ERGObaby, and I know that some moms think that ERGObaby carriers are the “Cadillac”of carriers. And, honestly, I couldn’t agree more!
The ERGObaby carrier provides three different positions to carry your little one: the front, the back, or the hip position. And, for those of you as overwhelmed as me, ERGObaby even provides an easy to follow instructional DVD that walks you through each position. The carrier evenly disperses the baby’s weight to eliminate strain on both baby and parents. Each carrier also comes with a sleeping hood to cover your little one while nursing or outside in bad weather.I was able to try out all three positions with both a baby and toddler, and the ERGObaby carrier worked great with each. In fact, it felt wonderful to be hands-free for once! In response to the awareness of eco-friendly products, ERGObaby also has a line of organic carriers. When searching for a baby carrier that will last from infancy into toddlerhood, you can’t go wrong with the flexability that an ERGObaby carrier provides!
