Is it a cold or allergies

An estimated 50 million Americans suffer from allergies.   That equals 17 million trips to the doctor each year and more than $7 billion in annual costs for families. You might want to compare savings accounts because it is going to be the one to suffer.   That’s a lot of time and money!  So what can proper diagnosis and treatment mean for year-round or seasonal sufferers? Dr. Linda Dahl, a board certified otolaryngologist, and Mike Tringale from the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America have teamed with Waterpik to help get to the bottom of one of the main questions of the season… is it a cold or allergies?

Dr. Linda Dahl is a board certified otolaryngologist (ear, nose and throat doctor!) specializing in pediatrics (she’s a mom herself!)  In addition to her private practice, Dr. Dahl treats professional singers and performers for Broadway, opera, and television and recording artists.
Mike Tringale is Vice President of External Affairs for the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA).  An allergy sufferer himself, he has written and edited articles for consumer health magazines such as Health Monitor and Asthma Magazine, as well as for medical periodicals such as Annals of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.
