And the winner is…

Scholastic Inc. has launched “The Be Big in Your Community Contest” in support of CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG and the BE BIG initiative. The contest calls upon kids, parents, teachers, and community leaders to submit their BIG ideas for creating positive change in their communities by demonstrating Clifford’s Big Ideas; Share, Play Fair, Have Respect, Work Together, Be Responsible, Be A Good Friend, Help Others, Be Truthful, Be Kind and Believe In Yourself. The BE BIG Fund will help bring the winning BIG idea to life by awarding one (1) Grand Prize $25,000 community grant and ten (10) runner-up $2,500 community grants to implement the winning BIG ideas via HandsOn Network local affiliate organizations. Submit your idea at Scholastic.com/cliffordbebig  and remember….IT ONLY TAKES A LITTLE TO BE BIG!

From the Scholastic site: Clifford’s Big Ideas are central to the BE BIG initiative. They represent the social and emotional challenges that children face and must master in the course of development – and remind adults that, through their actions and behaviors, they too can BE BIG.

The Big Ideas have been featured since 2000 through classic storytelling in each and every television episode that airs on PBS KIDS – which conclude with a vignette featuring Clifford and his friends in a variety of scenarios where they model (or learn to model!) each of these ten Big Ideas. As part of Clifford’s BE BIG campaign, we aim to give you suggestions as to how to bring the Big Ideas to life each and every day.

The Giveaway

We’re giving away a set of two Clifford The Big Red Dog Audiobooks from Scholastic. Titles included in the set are Clifford at the Circus ($9.95) and Clifford’s Good Deeds ($7.97). Both books include an Audio CD and Paperback and are recommended for ages 3 & up. These books and many other selections are available at The Scholastic Store.
