The list of home maintenance tasks a homeowner has to keep up with is extensive. While overlooking some things may not be a big deal, forgetting the home maintenance tasks on this list will cost you big time.

Gutter systems are installed on houses as a means of helping rainwaters to wash away from the foundation. When those gutters become clogged, the water isn’t able to travel efficiently. Cleaning Dryer Vents

Having a washer and dryer in your home is convenient. However, if you’re not taking care of it properly it could end up costing you your home, your belongings, and even your life. Dryer vents collect dust, debris, and lint from clothing. If it is not collected on a regular basis, the vent becomes clogged. The next time you try to dry something, the lint and debris could get so hot that it sparks flames and starts a fire.

Not only do you have to regularly clean the lint trap in your dryer but you must also have your vents cleaned out. While people who dry fewer loads of clothes each week will only need to clear their vents once a year, a larger family who washes and dries clothes more frequently should clear the vents at least once every three months.

There’s no denying that there are a ton of things to do in and around your house. However, if you want it to remain a safe and healthy living environment for you and your family it is important to stay on top of things.
