Being on a diet is sometimes the hardest thing in the world! Especially, when it comes to the GM diet, you are hungry and you cannot eat just about anything you lay your hands on to; in such a situation salads should be your bosom buddy. They contain zero calories and are very nutritious and filling. The seven days diet predominantly comprises of eating fruits and veggies. So you need to keep a salad recipe book handy to rustle up some delicious salads.

Salad Recipes:

Is eating salads, not up to your alley? You think they are boring and your taste buds won’t react to them the same way as they normally do, to spicy food? Well, you are definitely going to change your mind, when you taste these amazing salad recipes.

Sprouted Lentil Salad:

This is a very nutritious salad and the cilantro and green chilies, pepper, lime juice add the right amount of zest to your otherwise mundane salad. This should be your go-to salad when you calm down your growling tummy. Hunger pangs will be gone in a jiffy!

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cup sprouted moong dal
  • 1 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 1 cup chopped cucumber
  • 1 cup grated carrot (optional)
  • 1 sliced orange (small pieces)
  • 1/4 cup cilantro (finely chopped)
  • 2 chopped green chilies (optional)

Salad Dressing:

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt, adjust to taste
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice, adjust to taste

Method:

Mix all the salad dressing ingredients together. Keep it aside. Next take the sprouted moong dal and transfer it to a bowl. Mix the chopped tomatoes, chopped cucumber, oranges, and cilantro and green chilies. It is now absolutely ready to devour.  When you are serving, remember to serve the salad and dressing separately.

Green gram Salad:

Do the sights of greens make you run for cover? Well, this is one salad to keep your taste buds busy even when you are done with your seven day plan. Here is how you can make this salad.

Ingredients needed:

  • 1/4 cup Split yellow-green gram (moong dal)
  • 1- Cucumber
  • 1- Carrots
  • 2 tsp. each- Capsicum and tomato finely chopped (optional)
  • ½ a Lemon fresh
  • For the seasoning

1tsp-Oil:

  • 1/2 tsp. – Mustard seeds
  • 1 Tbsp -finely chopped Ginger
  • 1 or 2- finely chopped Green chilies
  • a pinch of Asafoetida/Hing
  • a sprig of curry leaves

Method:

Peel the skin and slice cucumbers and carrots. Wash and soak moong dal in water for 1 hour. After an hour or so, drain the water completely. Add chopped cucumber, carrots, capsicums and tomatoes to the dal. Heat a tsp. of oil; add mustard seeds, when mustard splutters, add ginger, green chilies, asafoetida and sauté for a few seconds. Add it to the lentil mixture. Add the juice of lemon and salt to taste.

Mixed Vegetable Salad:

If you choose for GM diet!  You should have more veggies, in fact the more veggies, the better right? Try out this recipe and the fact that it has an assortment of veggies makes it all the more healthy and nutritious.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup -Shredded cabbage
  • 1 cup -Bell pepper/Capsicum – 1 cup (all colors together)
  • 1-Cucumber or zucchini
  • 4-5 leaves -Ice berg Lettuce
  • 7-8-Cherry tomatoes

For the dressing:

Extra virgin Olive oil – 2 tsp.
Salt and Black pepper powder to taste
Lemon juice – 2 Tbsp

Method:

Shred cabbage and chop all the vegetables including lettuce. In a bowl, add all the chopped vegetables.
Add the dressing and toss it, so that the vegetables are well coated with the dressing.

Mixed Fruit Salad:

If you add the fruits to your salad, the sweetness of the fruits adds a different flavor to the otherwise mundane salad. Check out this recipe and try it out on the day three of your diet plan.

Ingredients:

  • Fruits of your choice (chopped)
  • Fresh orange juice – 2 tbsp.
  • Mung sprouts – fistful
  • Tomato -half (seeds removed and chopped)
  • Salt and pepper powder to taste

Method:

Just toss all the above ingredients in a bowl just before serving.

Sprouts with Orange Salad:

Sprouts are your go to food throughout your GM diet plan and this salad is no different. Have it for those cravings between main meals.  You will remain satiated till your next main meal.

Ingredients:

  • Lime-1
  • Orange – 1
  • Honey – 2 tsp. (avoid sugar as much as possible)
  • Sprouts – handful

Method:

Peel the oranges; deseed the orange and the outer skin. Take the orange segments alone.
Mix everything in a bowl before serving. You can serve chilled also.

When you are following a diet plan, a little bit of planning is essential, so that you can stick to the diet plan without a hitch. The GM diet plan is the best way to lose weight in the shortest stipulated time. So if you think you have put on too much of weight, follow the GM diet plan for instant results!
