I received a gift card from Fruit of the Loom in exchange for writing this blog post. Although this post is sponsored, all opinions are my own.
Ahh! Back to school we go! I dread August knowing that we have to get our butts in gear for back to school season. I’m not a shopper so I don’t even like that aspect of it! My daughter on the other hand loves (and I mean LOVES) to shop!
It’s kind of fun to watch her get all excited about a new outfit, a new pair of shoes, or that fantastic dress she says she really really needs! At only 6 years of age, she will be at the store with us and say “Oh Mom, I really really need that dress. It’s soooo beautiful!”. I just don’t understand it. But that’s because I’ve never been into all the girly stuff or the shopping.. I was always the one getting my hands dirty in the dirt or playing flag football with the boys. Always a tomboy. But I love watching my daughter become her own person!
For the 2nd year in a row we are working with Fruit of Loom to get us ready for back to school with the hashtag #TGIBTS which stands for “Thank Goodness It’s Back to School”. It is for all moms out there who are excited about this time of year because of all the emotions that accompany a new school year.
Fruit of the Loom was kind enough to give us $75 Walmart gift card to go towards our back to school shopping adventure at Walmart.. and boy was it an adventure!
This is the “Mommy I soooo need these!” look after she’s been told that she already had 2 pair of underwear in the basket and that we didn’t need more.
Check out those bonus packs! The bonus packs come with three extra items in each package and are available in boys, girls and even in men’s and women’s for those teens who have outgrown the children sizes. You can find them at Walmart, both in-store and online.
And this is what our cart looked like before we got to the rest of the clothing..
Needless to say my daughter ran the whole show! She seemed to know exactly what she wanted and we quickly filled the cart. My son on the other hand.. well him and dad took off to the toy section and stayed there the entire time. They had no interest in shopping.. not to worry though because my daughter had it all under control.. she knew exactly what to get for her brother!
I remember our very first school day, it was a few years ago when the kids started preschool. It was almost a full day of school for them and such a huge change since they went from staying home with one of us to being away most of the day. Everyone cried balled a few hours that day. When we came home the house was empty so I cried some more. As the years go by though it gets a little easier.. this year the kids were excited to go to school, they’ve met their teachers and the school really paired them up well because each teacher has a different approach which seems to mesh with the kids well.
I want to give a huge thank you to Fruit of Loom for offering us the gift card for our back to school shopping!

We still have our winner information which was Jason.. so Jason should be getting his prize of a $75 e-gift card as well!
