If you’re a parent, then chances are you’ve had to arrange for a babysitter at one time or another. This is no easy task, especially if you don’t have any family close by who you can conveniently dump your children off with. There’s always your friends, but sometimes they’re not available either, and you might feel a little guilty subjecting them to your screaming toddler. I’ve often wondered, “If I absolutely needed a babysitter and I couldn’t find somebody to help me, what would I do?” And I really didn’t have an answer to that question until I found out about care.com.

Care.com has done all the hard work for you. For example, instead of having to searching for childcare providers on your own, just do a search for your area and you’re provided with a list of caregivers near you. They are pre-screened with recorded references and background checks available. In addition, you can read reviews, view availability and send messages to potential caregivers to speak with them further. It’s free to sign up with the website – you’ll get limited access to caregiver profiles. If you want unlimited access to all caregivers and free background checks, opt for a premium membership starting at $25. Read more from Marissa!

Janet from Grammy Janet’s Place says…

I chose to look for a Pet care Provider in my area. It was extremely easy for me to do. I clicked on the top button that says Pet Care and I was able to search by inputting my zip code and how many miles within my area in the search boxes.I searched for within five miles, hit submit and the next page came up with an amazing list of 19 pages of Pet Care providers. I found eight very close to my vicinity, three of them in my town and the others were all within my five mile search criteria. Each listing displayed a photo of the provider, their name, city, age and experience. I could view a note from each of them describing their qualifications, hourly rate, availability, last log-in and response to messages. I was then able to view their profile, send a message directly to them or save to favorites. Read more from Janet!

I have also really been appreciating the articles they have on there as well. With any search from Child Care to Elderly Care and everything in between, there are several article links that have a ton of helpful and useful information relevant to your search. And if you don’t find what you’re looking for or want a quicker way, there’s even a section for you to post the type of help or care you are seeking. Not looking for a provider but instead want to be one? Well now, there’s a whole section for you as well! Read more from Summer!

I spent a lot of time going through the website. Clicking in my zip code for every service they provide. To my surprise I was able to find people near me in most cases. I was surprised because I live in a small sort of out of the way town. I also checked in bigger metropolises like Miami, Danbury, CT, and Las Vegas.Another aspect of the Care website that I especially liked were the articles posted. For every section of their website: Child Care, Special Needs, Tutoring, Senior Care, Housekeeping, and Care Gigs, there are a number of interesting articles that pertain to that section. For instance under Housekeeping I found a great article, Declutter Your Kids’ Stuff While Creating Memories That Last a Lifetime and under Care Gigs I found an article on Planning a Stay-at-Home Birthday Party. This is a great tool to help you find caring professionals to care for what matters most to you. Read more from Nicole!
