Exergen Corporation

is the recognized world leader in industrial and medical non-invasive temperature technology. From providing temperature sensors for NASA and various industries to creating one of the world’s most popular baby gifts, Exergen creates non-invasive temperature measurement devices providing lower cost, higher accuracy, less invasiveness, and greater reliability than ever previously possible.

The creator of the first temporal artery thermometer—the Temporal Scanner™, the most efficacious, non-invasive thermometer ever created. Exergen holds over 100 U.S. and foreign patents, and is the only manufacturer of retail medical thermometers in the U.S. Presently, 30% of hospitals and pediatricians currently use the Exergen TemporalScanner, and well over 1 million consumers use one at home.

.
A few of our reviewers recently had the chance to try out the TemporalScanner and the results are unanimous – for an accurate, non-invasive alternative to a standard thermometer, the TemporalScanner from Exergen is mom-preferred. Check out these rave reviews…

Mommy in Pink – I have always thought that a rectal reading was by far the most accurate way to take a temperature, but there are a lot of factors that can potentially lead to less than accurate readings this way, such as coughing, talking, drinking, etc. By using the TemporalScanner, you have consistent accurate readings that are not affected those things.

Not Your Typical Mommy – So with my nut-job of a husband, this thermometer is an answer to my daughter’s prayers. No more poking in the tushy in this household. The Exergen Temporal Scanner has a permanent place in our First Aid kit.

The Haute Stuff – since getting this amazing thermometer we’ve been healthy and it actually agrees with us. Each and every time. Forehead reading, ear reading, either way. It’s accurate. Reliable. Very cool. What’s even better… No cute baby booties were harmed in the process. In fact, they can sleep away and not even know what’s going on. I mean really, does it get any better? Um, no. It doesn’t.

The Sassy Southerner – With a traditional glass bulb thermometer, you have to worry about breaking it and being exposed to the mercury inside it. With a digital thermometer, you have to worry about the accuracy of it. With the Temporal Scanner, all that worry is melted away with the ease and affordability. The Temporal Scanner can be purchased at many retailers such as Walmart, Walgreens and places like that.

The Glamorous WAHM – What was actually kind of funny was when my two year olds temperature would go up and he wasn’t feeling well he would bring me the Exergen Temporal Scanner and tell me it was time to take his temperature. As a mother you can’t help but love its convenience and accuracy.

The Post-It Place – Now, when I take one of the kids to the Doctor’s office they use an Exergen Temporal Artery Thermometer. It measures the core temperature just like taking a rectal temperature does. Therefore it is more accurate than any other method used. It is also super easy…you can even use it while your child is sleeping.

Miscellaneous Finds 4 U – The home version is plastic, though I find it well made. The probe and body are one piece and fit nicely in my hand. The scan button is in a expected and comfortable place and once I read the directions on how to scan I was able to do it easily.

Raising Peanuts – All you have to do is hold it in the middle of the forehead, hold the button, and swipe to the hairline. It takes all of a few seconds and you have your temp. No more holding down little ones trying to get a decent reading! This really seems to be the all around great temp taker for a household. No more trying to keep rectal thermometers separate! One device can take the whole family’s temps.

Grammy Janet’s Place – I needed one of these when my sons were young. I have memories of mercury thermometers that burst all the time and I would be looking for the loose ball of mercury. When I used this thermometer on my grandson, he thought it was a new toy and he did not resist. He is not sick at this time but if he was taking his temperature this way would be gentle, quick and accurate. Giveaway ends 6/4!

Pink & Posh – Finally! There is a super easy method to taking an accurate temperature! I love this product! I haven’t had an opportunity to use it during a “sick” moment (thank goodness!), but I know that when the time comes, I will definitely be prepared to focus on taking care of my sick babies instead of worrying about the stress of fighting for an accurate temperature. It was also really easy to store and clean. This would make a great gift idea for any new parent. Giveaway ends 6/4!

Grocery Price Blog – I wanted to see how accurate this was so I tried it on my husband and myself. Both came out normal. They I took my sons temperature with an ear thermometer. It came out 102.0, then I subjected the poor kid to just one more with a oral thermometer under his arm and that read 102.1 as well. So would have to say this baby is VERY accurate and the best part? It is the FASTEST thing I have ever seen! It literally takes a temperature in like 3 seconds! Mom’s of young ones know what a blessing that feature is! Giveaway ends 6/4!

The Plus Size Mommy – In my home, having 4 children, this is a great tool for me (Dr. Mom). It is so simple to use and quick. No more trying to stick things into my kids ears (especially if they have a fever due to an ear infection). No more bothering them while they aren’t feeling well. This is such a painless way to get a temporal temperature read easily and everyone is happy. Giveaway ends 6/1!

All in a Mom’s Life I brought it home and tested it on myself. I simply pushed down the button while gently gliding it from the center of my forehead across to my hairline. Viola. Instant temperature reading. {Don’t forget to read the directions and remove the protective cover…it helps. Trust me.} I showed it to J-bug. Showed her how it worked. Let her try it on mommy. Basically I got her used to it before she needed it. Just in case. Giveaway ends 6/4!

Mommy Mandy – I have always had such a hard time taking the girls temperature. I never would get an accurate temperature. I have tried many times to take their temperature in their arm pit or mouth and never know if the temperature is true. Thankfully I now can get accurate temperatures read using the Exergen TemporalScanner. Giveaway ends 6/5!

This Side of Eternity – I can’t believe how cool this Exergen Temporal Scanner is. I was sent one to review for free and was immediately impressed by it. It takes seconds to get an accurate reading. And moms know that every second counts when you are dealing with a sick kid. As soon as I opened it everyone in my house was looking for their turn to try it out. It is really so amazing how easy and quick it is to get an accurate reading from this. Giveaway ends 6/2!

The Pink Chandelier – It was so easy to use my five year old son was able to take his baby brother’s temperature. As a mother who has used an assortment of thermometers from various brands I highly recommend the Exergen Temporal ScannerTM. Exergen not only has my backing but the backing of over two dozen studies, as well as countless doctors and hospitals. Giveaway ends 6/25!

Dore’s Diaries – It senses temperature changes 60-90 minutes before a rectal thermometer can! Brayden really doesn’t mind taking his temp anymore. This is nothing short of a miracle! Can you hear the angels singing?!?! Brayden’s pediatrician actually uses one of the more high-tech fancy versions of this thermometer… and it is an Exergen! Watch Dore’s video review. Giveaway ends 6/12!

Fairy Blog Mother – Why I like it…it’s completely non-invasive. No more waking sick, sleepy kids to pop a thermometer in their mouth, ear or under their arm…or other places. You simply brush it across the forehead, over the temporal artery and it gives you a quick, accurate reading. Giveaway ends 6/11!

Baby Loving Mama – I’ve found the Exergen TemporalScanner to be painless and easy to use. Lucian asks me to take his temperature and enjoys trying to take his own! It is nice to know if I need to take a temperature when my child is sleeping, I can do it without disturbing him. I also like how quick it is. Only 2 seconds to get results! Giveaway ends 6/11!

The Divine Miss Mommy – Check out this video with a sort of creepy baby in it. The video fully explains how to use the Exergen Temporal Scanner in layman’s terms. I learned a lot about the product just by watching this short video. Seriously though? This thing rocks. It is fast. It is accurate. And it gives me peace of mind. Now my husband has a new toy and with it, he can play Super Dad by constantly monitoring the temperature of my children. Giveaway ends 6/12!

Moomette’s Magnificents Reviews – How I wish something like this was around when I was a young mom! This high-tech thermometer is a great tool for Dr. Mom and for new/expecting parents. Since it’s non-invasive, there are no ears and no rears and parents don’t have to go through the painful experience of taking their sick toddler’s temperature . Do you ever feel like you need a helper with an extra set of hands to help you hold your moving baby or toddler? Giveaway ends 6/10!

Mom of 2 Boys, Wife of 1 – I wish I had this when my children were babies. Can you imagine how much easier it would have been to take a sleeping babies temperature by gently sliding the thermometer across the forehead instead of sticking it in their “bum”? I would have killed for this (well, not really killed, but you know what I mean). Giveaway ends 6/7!
