The EatSmart Precision Elite Thermocouple Food Thermometer – designed by chef’s and cooking professionals – allows you to quickly and easily grill/roast food to just the right temperature. We enjoyed it so much we recently featured it as one of our favorite kitchen gadgets.
Easy to operate all you need to do is simply unfold the stainless steel probe and insert into the thickest part of the meat that you are cooking. The thermometer gives you a reading in 3 seconds or less. Fast right?

I love that it gives a fast reading and that you can press the hold button so that it actually holds on temperature on the display. This is great for those days when we are running around the kitchen trying to finish up dinner and get everything ready.
I also like that the probe is so small that when you do check the temp it’s small enough that it won’t bother the juices inside the meat allowing your meat to stay full of flavor and not dry out.
One of the negatives that we found is that it doesn’t have an off button. Having an off button would make it so much more functional. That way if you’re cooking multiple meats, like during the Holidays, it would be nice if you could shut it off until you need it again. Unfortunately, you have to fold the thermometer closed in order for it to shut itself off. It’s not really that big a deal in the scheme of things, I just think having an off button would be better.
We did have some old school thermometers that we used to test the consistency of the Precision Elite Thermocouple Food Thermometer. Both thermometers read the same, there was maybe a degree or two difference but the Precision Elite was much faster. I didn’t have to stand around and watch the little dial move up until it stopped, I had an instant reading which was nice.
Because the probe folds in it definitely makes for better storage than our older thermometers. It also takes the risk out of breaking the probe when you shut to drawer. If you’re like us and have a very full drawer of kitchen gadgets, thermometers and more than you will find this handy.
Our family gives it a thumbs up and so do other reviewers on Amazon. It’s definitely been a great thermometer for us that’s fast and reliable.
