Ask A Dad: Becoming A Dad

Question:

I’m due in 4 months.. how did becoming a dad change your life? What sacrifices, if any, did you make? Were they worth it? What advice would you give anyone becoming a dad for the first time?

Our Dad Response:

Becoming a parent, mom or dad, changes your life in ways you cannot explain.

In my case, I went from going to parties and bars with friends, playing video games, going out to eat or to the movies to being a homebody who works long hours a week and spending my free time with my wife and kids. I did this because I chose to, not because I had to. I wanted to make good money to provide my children with whatever they needed and to spend as much time with them as I could. It’s been worth it ever minute of every day.

As far as advice, just enjoy it. From the time they’re born til the time you die it’s an enjoyable adventure. Enjoy every minute of it. Don’t worry and fret about things, just enjoy the ride. It’s the greatest.
