Summer is always a great time of the year, the kids are off school and you have the opportunity to take a break from the stresses of work by taking the whole family on a trip abroad. It can be difficult to find an appropriate destination to suit all ages, which is why it is advisable to do your research before making the final decision. You need to find out about the location to determine if it is suitable for your family’s preferences and needs.

  1. Alvor
    Alvor is located in Algarve, Portugal. It has a small population of just 5,000 residents and was once a traditional Portuguese fishing village. It has come a long way since then and now offers the perfect location to reconnect with the family and enjoy the simplicities of life. There are lots of places to stay in Alvor so make sure that you check them out – there is plenty to do here including skydiving and peaceful boat tours. Try out the local seafood and have a few drinks in the bars, which often have live music and various performances throughout the year.

    View the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame in the capital city of France. Paris is ideal for families because there is something here for everyone. Teenagers will adore the fantastic shopping opportunities in this great city whilst youngsters will run head first towards Disneyland Paris. This is the most visited theme park in Europe and for a good reason. It is perfect for families, even those with older children will love its excitement and magic. The park is situated just 32km east of the city centre and so is easily accessible by car or public transport.

    The Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort in the Wasatch Range of the Rocky Mountains, near Salt Lake Country, is a captivating location and a place where families can embark on many amazing adventures together. According to Travel Channel, this resort offers 3,240 feet and 5,000 acres of mountain to explore. The resort also has a lot of activities available such as snow tubing, snowshoe tours, ice skating and luge sleds. Whilst the kids are getting in touch with their inner explorer, parents can relax with a heated stone massage in the Cliff Spa.
  4. London
    London has something to offer every member of the family. It is a 21st century city and has many great attractions such as Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, River Thames, National Gallery and the British Museum. See the city in all its beauty on top of the huge Coca-Cola London Eye which has become a major feature of the city’s skyline. According to www.visitlondon.com the London Eye has 32 capsules, each weighing 10 tonnes and holding up to 25 people. From such a grand height, you can see an ‘unforgettable perspective of more than 55 of London’s most famous landmarks’.
  5. Lanzarote
    Lanzarote is one of the famous Canary Islands that boasts glorious sandy beaches and a warm climate. The crystal clear waters here make it a great destination for snorkeling, which can prove to be a great family activity. You can also hop on the back of a camel and take a trip around the Timanfaya National Park followed by enjoying a family meal in a mysterious volcanic cave.
