1. Improve your Outside Storage
Think back to last spring and summer. Did your yard look cluttered and untidy? If so, you might want to think about improving your outside storage space. Luckily, there are many ways of doing this with long-lasting prefabricated storage shed kits being one solution. These require absolutely no cutting or welding whatsoever and as they’re highly durable and all-weather proof, you can rest assured they’ll stand the test of time.
2. Sort Out the Garage
Having a dedicated area to keep work equipment, tools, toys, bikes and such like can feel extremely satisfying. But, while investing in extra storage is a great idea, you might also want to spring clean your existing garage. Sure, this is where you may keep your car, but with a bit of organization, you might be surprised how much room there is for cupboards and shelving.
Top tip: When it comes to garage storage ideas, don’t neglect wall space. Putting up shelves or racks will help you to store rubber boots, outdoor jackets, tennis rackets and other miscellaneous items neatly and avoid clutter altogether. You might also want to line the walls with tool racks. Smaller versions are available for hammers and chisels.
3. Paint your Front Door
If you’ve not got the time or energy to give your whole property a revamp following a wet and cold winter, why not paint the front door and polish the hinges and knobs? This will instantly give your home a lift without putting you over budget or eating into weekend relaxation.
Top tip: Choose a paint or stain the complements the trim and siding. For an extra special touch, invest in a new welcome mat and your home will look as good as new.
4. Plant Some Flowers
Again, planting flowers and placing pots near the entrance of your home creates the illusion that you’ve been busy attending to your property. This might be the case, but if you’ve just been to the nearest store and popped a few pretty plants in a pot such as the beautiful Daphne, that’s alright too. Spring is all about a fresh new start, so opt for vibrant hues interspersed with evergreen shrubs that are easy to maintain.
5. Power Wash your Drive
Rain, sleet, snow and heavy winds can ruin your driveway. So, it’s a good idea to clear away any debris before going over it with the power washer. These can be hired so don’t panic if you don’t have one. You’ll be amazed at how clean it looks afterwards and, if any repairs need to be made, you can find replacement bricks that match the clean ones.
Get ready for spring with these simple but effective DIY tricks.
