I remember begging my parents as kid to get a certain kind of cereal just because of the goody (usually a toy or something fun) that was inside the box. Even though I may not have liked that certain cereal I always promised I’d eat the entire box just so that I could have the goody inside. I also remember my brother and I fighting over the different goodies at times!
Cereal may be for kids, but I know I still eat it and love it. We always have cereal in our house to munch on or even for those days when we need a quick breakfast solution. Some of my favorites have always been Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Lucky Charms (I used to always get in trouble for picking out all the marshmallows!) and Cheerios. Today our twins love to snack on Cheerios, I think that if they could eat Cheerios all day long and they’d be happy.
General Mills has decided to bring back the original retro boxes for the five Big G Cereals: Honey Nut Cheerios, Cheerios, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Lucky Charms, and Trix which is pretty awesome. Now, Target will be the only store where you will be able find these special limited edition boxes, from February 14th – March 7th, so be sure to get to your local Target to pick up these cool retro cereal boxes!

As a young boy in the 70s, I loved the little red or yellow three-wheeler (ATV) that was included in the Cheerios box.

I used to love the little records they put on the back of boxes that you cut out and played. I do miss the way they used to make cereal before they starting changing them around, reducing sugar, etc. They were more flavorful then.

Always has been Boo-Berry. I had to have dh special order it when I was pg w our twins I craved it so.. Then it made a comeback!!!!

I have always loved Lucky Charms. When I was a kid I would separate the marshmallows from the cereal and eat the cereal first to “save the best for last” and eat the marshmallows in handfuls trying to mash them all together. I actually remember separating them in two baseball hats once when my parents weren’t paying attention, hahaha those were the days!

I used to love alphabets, kix and crispix (hey, I still do). I don’t particularly remember any cereal prizes but I do know my kids fight over the speed racer cars and books that come in cereal boxes. The only food prizes I remember as a kid are the ones from tropicana and snapple oh and quaker oatmeal used to have color changing bowls that I loved
