I am not making things up, these loaves contain bananas, which are rich in potassium, a chemical element vital for the good functioning of our heart, kidneys and our metabolism in general.

Let’s see how you can make your banana bread batter healthy and weight loss promoting.

Banana Bread Healthier Ingredients:

First things first, you have to be as creative as possible. The key is to replace all the not so good for you ingredients with those that are beneficial and health promoting:h

Flour Replacements:

Consider replacing the regular all-purpose flour for a healthier variant, anything from almond to coconut, from oat to whole wheat flour will do.

Milk Replacements:

We all know that a recipe for banana loaf cannot go without milk in it. But to be on the safe side use a non-dairy variant. (coconut or soy milk will not only do the part but will enhance the aroma and flavor of your loaf respectively).

Sugar Replacements:

You can actually cut off the sugar in your banana bread entirely. How? Use some extra ripe bananas, they will give it a sweetness, not as much as sugar would but still… Or, if you really want to satiate your sweet tooth, use honey, stevia or coconut sugar.

Egg Replacements:

A great alternative to eggs are the flax seed ones. Flax seeds are known to be a rich source of fiber, whereas the carbs content is much lower. What’s more, they are a great binder so will definitely do the task of replacing an egg.

Toppings to Go with the Healthy Banana Bread Recipes:

You can always make things more interesting by adding half a cup of pumpkin puree, for example.

And for extra nutrition add some pumpkin seeds as well. They are rich in Vitamin K (great for the bones) and Vitamin E (a great antioxidant).

Avocados are also a great fruit you can add for extra flavor, a great texture and even more health benefits. Only a cup of this fruit will provide you with enough vitamin K, vitamin C, and Vitamins B5, B6 that will keep you going throughout the day. Plus, your metabolism is going to be as strong as ever!

Choose your favorite flour, milk, and egg replacement and fold some of the suggested fruits and seeds inside your banana bread recipes.

Not only will you enjoy a delicious dessert bite, but you will also feel energized and ready to face whatever comes your way.
