We’ve been using NuVet Plus for our dogs for over a year now, so I have tried and seen the results for myself and I’ve even saved money on vet trips. These Squeeki Tiki™ Dog Toys by Petprojekt are durable.. just not the kind of toy we would purchase for our pitbull. I ended up giving them to my mom, who has bloodhounds and bloodhound pups.. and they loved them. My mom actually wants me to order a few more because her dogs like them so much they’re fighting over them. They’ve been chewing on them for weeks now and haven’t torn them up.. so that shows you how good these toys are.

I do love the fact that these toys are different. They’re colorful and have funky faces on them so that their not the typical dog toys. They are actually stylized to look like cool stone Polynesian Gods. Not dull in the least! They are softer, but durable, and all squeek.

We have a Sheltie and FOUR cats, so our battle against pet hair is both ongoing and nearly impossible!!

Do you have pets? We have a medium sized dog who stays in the house with us. She’s a member of our family and has full reign of the house, except for upstairs where we and the twins sleep. We don’t like for her to get up on the furniture but sometimes she does. I have an older style Electrolux vacuum that I thought did a pretty good job at picking up dog hair on the carpet and on our furniture.

When I was sent the Pledge Fabric Sweeper to review (thank you Family Review Network!) I wasn’t sure how well it would pick up because I noticed the rollers on the bottom and thought they might not work too well on our furniture. It’s small, light weight and plastic and fits very comfortably in your hands.

How it works:

It’s very easy! You simply slide the sweeper from side-to-side on your furniture. It’s recommended that you use short strokes (about 8-12 inches in each direction).

The rollers on the bottom of the fabric sweeper pick up the pet hair and as you slide it from side-to-side the pet hair gets trapped inside the container. If pet hair builds up on the rollers just repeat the side-to-side motion a few times on a clean area and the hair will end up in the container.

Another Test

Let’s just say I got a little sweeper happy and I tried the fabric sweeper on a medium sized area rug. I was having so much fun using it on the furniture I wanted to see how well it did on other things.

It worked perfectly on our area rug. I’m a little embarrassed to show you this picture but for the sake of how well the fabric sweeper works, I will put my pride aside and show you. ( And for my sanity, please keep in mind that it was a very busy week with the twins so I didn’t have a chance to do any vacuuming. I really do keep up with the housework, I promise!)

Overall

Overall I think this is a great product. It’s small, light-weight and easy to handle. It worked great on our furniture. From a search on Google it looked like they were priced at around $5 which is affordable. The Pledge Fabric Sweeper is disposable, there is no way to clean the canister and reuse once it’s full, but if you just use it for small projects like it’s created for it’s definitely worth the price and will last a while.

Wysong Review

Ever since I had kids, I definitely pay more attention to what I am feeding my family, even my animals. There is so much in the media these days about all natural and such. There are many companies out there that make taking care of my family in the best way possible even easier.

One company that can help me better feed and take care of my family is Wysong. They have great products for humans and for pets. Wysong was established in 1979. They have a holistic and natural approach to the care and feeding of both humans and animals.

My family was lucky enough to try some of the products. We received some treats for our dog and cats. They definitely enjoyed them. After the first couple, they would get very excited when they saw us get the bag out. These were treats that we felt good about giving them because Wysong treats are nutritious and contain to artificial additives.

We also received some things for the humans of the family to try out. We received Peanut Butter Plus, Trail Mix, and the Origins Un-Cereal. The Trail Mix and Origins Un-Cereal made great snacks at work. I kept them in my desk and munched on them for breakfast or as a snack. I didn’t need very much to fill me up and they tasted great. The Peanut Butter Plus was great on apples and with pretzels (one of my fav snacks).

Dog collars run the gamut from cute to industrial, and everything in between.
In the last few years, decorative collars have started to take off. First with the ribbon and beaded party collars and now with a rubber collar by Shainswear.

Shains stands for, State How Action Is a Necessary Solution, but because that’s too long, the company logo was changed to Say it Wear it Mean it.
The concept is simple.Take everyday items – bracelets, necklaces, pet collars, hair bands, key chains, and much more – and allow the user to make it their own by adding decorative elements that can be added simply, changed and rearranged, whenever you have something new to say! Elements range from letters, number, shape, and graphics.

We were sent a piece from the pet collection. Currently priced at $19, the kit includes:
Fashion Pet Collar – available in4 colors: Black, Sun, Poppy, Orchid, or Vanilla and available in 3 sizes: Small 15-16″, Medium 20-21″, and Large 25-26″
60 Decorative Elements:
34 letters (multiples of commonly used letters like “e”)
18 number (multiples of most but strangely not zero)
8 decorative elements – bone, newspaper, fire hydrant, dog bowl, K9, dog paw, ball, and dog house
Again, this is a decorative collar so while you could hang your pets tag from it, it’s not meant to be used with a lead as it is made of rubber and could stretch releasing your pet.

Icon Packs are available if the elements that came with your collar aren’t sufficient.
Say you want to put your telephone number on the collar and you have two zeros in it. There are also additional graphic packs surrounding a theme.

The company appears to be very eco-friendly.
They use recycled materials in the manufacturing of the pieces and then the pieces are recyclable when you through. They also give a percentage of their net profits to earth-centric organizations. Even their package notes this and ends with, “It’s our responsibility”. Love that!

I like the pet collar and think it’s adorable.
I like the striking color, although it’s not marked on the package, I believe it’s Poppy (orange). The elements are very easy to put into the collar – no more difficult that buttoning a button. I wouldn’t recommend this for a house with small children as the elements come out as easily as they go in and they could definitely become a choking hazard. Same warning for any dog that chews on their collar. As with all fashion collars, supervision should always be in place when worn.

A while back I decided to start living a little “greener”. For three main reasons; for my health, for my pocketbook, and to help save just a little bit of our natural resources. The green products I buy must do at least one of these things, preferably more! And I love when I find companies that help with all three!

Green Lemonaide offers “toolkits”, also known as eco-friendly gift baskets. They sell both a “Getting Started” Kit as well as a “Do More” kit. I was lucky enough to have the opportunity through Mom Fuse to review the “Do More kit”!

Everything in this kit is practical and usable!

• Reusable Tote - A great way to bring your groceries home! This bag not only holds more than the average plastic or paper bag, but it’s much easier to carry with the straps that I can swing over my shoulder. Saves all those plastic bags from the landfill where they take forever to break down.
• Smart Strip Surge Protector - A great way to help save a little bit of money when your appliances are turned off. (We put ours on our t.v. system)
• Sigg Water Bottle - Not only does stainless steel not leach toxins into your water, this has saved us money since we take it with us in the car and no longer have to buy a beverage while we’re out.
• Cotton Cloth Napkins(4) - We rarely use paper towels anymore since I switched over to using only kitchen towels for cleanup, but we still used them for our own hands at the dinner table. These have come in handy many times during messy dinners!
• Mrs. Meyers Surface Scrub - A cleaning scrub that is not only better for the environment, it actually works!
• Tire Pressure Gauge - Saving money on gas is always on my mind, even now that the prices are half what they were last summer. This gauge will not only help us save a few gallons of gas here and there, but it will also help us keep out tires properly inflated so as to not wear them out to soon.
• Sink Aerators(2) - I tend to leave the water running when I brush my teeth. Not good, I know, but these little sink aerators will help me use less water when I do forget to turn off the water!
• Fluorescent Light Bulb(2) - A great way to save on your electric bill, especially if you have a room where the lights stay on for a good part of the day.
• Shower Timer - So hard for me to use, but it’s been a great way to realize how long I’ve actually been in the shower. And this five minute timer would be great for big families who have to share a bath too!
• Spike Business Bags - Cleaning up after a dog is no fun. No fun at all. Most of the time the waste goes into a plastic bag that takes centuries to break down, but these bags are made from corn and degrade in about 45 days. So no more poo filled bags in the landfill!

If you yourself are on your way to living a little bit more eco-friendly, these kits are great! And if you’re not into all this eco stuff, they’d make a great gift for that “crazy, green” person in your life, or even as a bridal shower/home warming gift!

Our dog was very curious when we introduced this new bowl to her. She did some checking before she decided to try it out. She is used to standing up to eat and this bowl allowed her to lay on the floor for her dinner. She loved it. She didn’t have any problems reaching the food. The only thing I would suggest is using larger treats like bones or beggin’ strips so that they are easily attainable.

The small bowl holds 1 cup and the medium holds 3 cups. Made of fine bone china/porcelain. It’s also dishwasher safe.

The unique shape of the bowl (oval) creates a redefined dining experience for you pet:

Dog – Place the dish inline with the dog’s body. The dish conforms to their mouth and allows their ears to fall outside of the bowl.
Cat – Place the dish perpendicular to the cat’s body and it will reduce the whisker contact.
