Before I would just throw my accessories, makeup and more in a plastic shopping bag and throw it in the suitcase. Most of the time things would be ok.. but once in a while something might leak or break and then it would be all over everything.

rian sent me a fabulous bag to review and I’m a huge fan.. even if you’re not a mother and want something well designed and fashionable.. you should check out the rian totes.

For moms, especially new moms, this is the perfect tote in my opinion.. and not just because it’s very stylish. Each rian mommy tote features a wipeable nylon material, diaper roll pocket, baby bottle holder, pockets for wipes and snacks, sunglass holder, zip pocket, cell phone pocket and key holder.

When I first heard the features I thought this would be a big bag.. but it’s not huge like I thought it would be. It’s very specious for everything you need to carry yet it doesn’t look or feel bulky in the least.

The quality of the bag is also outstanding.. it’s very well made.

If you can’t tell I’m in love with the rian totes! I use it as my purse and double it as a diaper bag when we have the children with us. It fits everything I need, including the twins’ items. I love how it’s made, how it looks and how I feel wearing it. Definitely a keeper.

I love wearing it out because I always get at least one compliment. The other day one of my mommy friends was over and the bag caught her eye. She fell in love with the bag and wanted one. So I’ll be getting her one for Christmas.. she’ll love it!

Also, we were out at a restaurant yesterday and I had a group of moms on what they called a “mommy date”, which is this great idea where they get together once a week to have lunch or dinner and just hang out and talk about whatever, all of them were intrigued with the bag and asked me where they could get one. When I told them it could actually double as a diaper bag and everything the bag included.. they were in awe. Each one of them wanted one. It was pretty cool and we sat and talked for a while about what we all did.. I made some new mom friends, which I’m definitely excited about!

I’m thinking I need a red bag now.. so I’ll be getting the red version shown here for myself.. maybe as a Christmas present.. if I can wait that long!

The Pink Chandelier - These whimsical and sturdy bags retail for $20 for three bags and a carry case. I liked how they folded compactly into a little square that fits easily into my purse so that I can keep it with me for those small or quick shopping trips to the drugstore etc. I’d also use them for outings to the beach, library, and park.

Mommy in Pink – Although they carry many different styles that appeal to just about anyone, my personal favorite are the “Acts Of Kindness” totes designed by Emma Hand. Grammy Janet’s Place – I chose the Santa Fe Black Sundance Bracelet and I am glad that I did because I love wearing it. It has a touch of sparkling shine and it looks more expensive than it’s price. I am wearing it as I write this and it feels very comfortable.It is not tight and that is important to me when I purchase a beaded bracelet.

From Melissa’s Desk - The Navajo Brown w/ Cross Necklace is gorgeous. It has hand-blown glass beads in a variety of earthy tones. I had the most compliments while wearing it! It’s truly become one of my favorite pieces of jewelry! It’s quality made and fashionable!

The Post-It Place - I carried my tote on our Road Trip yesterday to tote all of my treasures around in. They are so handy because they fold up into about a 2X3 size and are convenient to carry with you wherever you go…and they hold LOTS of stuff.

The Sassy Southerner – And the S.H.O.P tote bag. OMG I absolutely love it. I love the retro colors. I haven’t been to town yet to use it but when I do, I’m sure I will get some reactions from it. And if you had any of the items from Calypso Studio, you too would get some reactions.

Baby Loving Mama – I also received this wonderful Copper Arabian Nights necklace. At first glance I thought it was going to be super heavy and uncomfortable but the necklace is surprisingly lightweight without feeling cheap. My favorite part of this piece is its versatility. It will go with just about anything! It is really a steal at only $15 and there are lots of other colors available.

The Clan McLeod – The Calypso S.H.O.P. Totes are made from 100% polyester, which makes them hand washable, and each one holds up to 20 lbs of weight. The purse style handles are perfect for allowing me to carry the tote over my shoulder and leaving my hands free to handle the car keys or other bags. I want more of these! So stylish and fun!

The Way I See It Too -  The beautiful handcrafted pieces are works of art. I have found in my pursuit of preserving our planet that “green” choices aren’t always easy or economical. Calypso Studios is helping to make my choices easier, as well as economical and beautiful all at the same time. And that makes perfect sense to me. How many shops do you know that have their own Green Mission Statement?

The Haute Stuff – Here’s what I love about them. They have a variety of awesome prints, so there really is something for everyone. The other thing I love…they fold up into these tiny little squares and then they snap up so that you can toss them into your purse so that you’ll never forget to bring them into the store with you.

Mom of 2 Boys, Wife of 1 – Seriously, using my own totes I don’t have to worry about bags ripping and groceries flying everywhere either. The S.H.O.P. Totes handles are plenty big enough to carry over your shoulder too, making carrying so much easier than trying to get your arm through a little opening of a plastic shopping bag.

Tara’s View of the World – S.H.O.P. stands for “Start Helping Our Planet” and using these great bags is another way we can go green. I have used my S.H.O.P. tote several times. It is light and durable with lots of space and it looks fantastic too!

Rockin’ Mama – Americans throw away 100 billion bags every year and they end up in our landfills and oceans. Some companies (i.e. Whole Foods) have eliminated all plastic bags from their stores and give you a small compensation for bringing in your own reusable bag. There are tons of reusable bags available, but I’ve yet to see one as cute and stylish as those offered at Calypso Studios.

Riding With No Hands – S.H.O.P. Totes hold up to 20 pounds, perfect for lugging groceries home, but my favorite feature is that they fold into themselves so that I can easily throw one in my diaper bag. Made of polyester, the bags are easily washable.

The Glamorous WAHM – The Red Coco Loco necklace is a triple strand of light weight coconut shells on a knotted necklace. This is the perfect accent to a nice, breezy, linen summer outfit. I’m thinking a white sleeveless shirt with a long white skirt, with long slits up the sides and a glamorous pair of flat open toe sandals or flip flops. Oh can’t you just see it? I can! And you know I chose the RED, my favorite color.

Pink & Posh – I opened the package on the way to my daughter’s ballet class and because I was wearing a black tee shirt, I went ahead and put on the bracelet. I swear, the other moms almost ripped my arm off trying to see the gorgeous bracelet! They were even more surprised to find that they could purchase their own for only $10 and that there were so many different colors to choose from!

Dore’s Diaries – I am a big fan of Calypso Studios Inc. and love knowing there are companies out there that really do care about saving our earth! They are even collaborating with several environmental organizations to help with their causes of keeping Mother Earth’s landfills and waterways free of plastic and paper bags. A percentage of all the sales will go towards these agencies.

Coffee With the Mrs. – What I love about the S.H.O.P. Tote is the size and strength of the bag. I’ve taken it grocery shopping many times and can fit a lot of groceries in it when I’m packing them up. Also, when it’s not being used, there is a small strap that can wrap around the bag when it’s folded up to help it store easily.

The Plus Size Mommy – They [S.H.O.P. Totes] come in a carrying case pack of 3 for $20 ! Which is a steal considering the quality and sheer beauty of these tote bags. (Not to mention your helping preserve the Earth!) There are many Shop Totes to choose from!

1 Stop Mom – With the S.H.O.P. tote I also received a Green Tia Necklace. I can only find one word to describe it. Beautiful. It is almost like this necklace was made just for me. Don’t you just love it when you come across something that makes you feel like that? First of all green is my favorite color and this necklace is the perfect shade. The length is perfect too. I am finding that I prefer necklaces that are longer. They just feel more comfortable to me. The Green Tia Necklace is 40″ long. It costs $25 and has some beautiful earrings that match for only $8. Don’t let me forget that the necklace and earrings are handmade with coin pearl and bar briolettes.

She Scribes – The Calypso Studios totes are very well made and they wash up very well too! My son got some vanilla ice cream on mine and I was able to wash it off easily with a damp cloth and a little soap. I haven’t put my tote in the washer yet but I’m sure it would wash well. I just suggest line drying. I’m not sure if the material can be dried in a hot drier.

SAHM Reviews - The BagsInABag product is such a novel concept. There are a variety of bag designs to choose from – smaller than a child’s pencil box. More like the size of a makeup bag. Each bag is jam-packed with so much stuff that when I first started emptying it, it felt like a clown car. Geez, how much stuff can they cram in here?

Each bag is neatly organized with like items and labeled to help find what you need. Here’s an incomplete sampling of what mine contains: A bag marked ‘tools’ contains a few items for nail care, super glue and a pencil. One marked “Cold” has children and adult cold medicines, an Emergen C sample and Alka-Seltzer. “Pain” has various types of pain relief medicine. “Hands” is packed with a rubber glove, nail polish remover pads, hand sanitizer wipes and lotion. “Cotton” includes Qtips, cotton balls and a tampon. Each of those bags that I listed has more than just the items I noted and there are also bags titled “First Aid, “Office” “Cough” and “Other”. But you get the idea. Neela Bags Review by Donielle

I love using my reusable bags when I go shopping. I’ve had them around for a year or more and find them so convenient – even when garage sale-ing and going to farmers markets! But the ones I have and normally see in the grocery stores are all boring store colors with the supermarket name plastered on it. Like mine. They’re blue and all say Meijer. And you know…sometimes I just don’t feel like advertising for stores. And sometimes I need a bit of flavor in my life.

Enter Neela Bags.

When I first opened the package I was really unimpressed by the size of the bag. I mean, it was about as big as a lunch tote. Seriously? But as I started to check it out, I actually opened it up. Yea. There were actually FIVE bags, folded up inside it. That makes sense. Duh.

So the sent me the Market Pack, which is really cool. One smaller bag (that could totally double as a lunch tote) hold 5 grocery sized bags all rolled up and neat like.

So yesterday I went out shopping at our local Natural/Bulk food store and decided to bring these along. For one, the fact that they fold up so small and have a separate carrying case was awesome. Because I go out shopping with a toddler and an infant and all their stuff plus my purse. Sometimes the extra bags just get in the way. This time I just pushed them into the diaper bag.

I was a bit concerned when I took them out of the bag to start loading groceries into them. Since they do fold up so small, they don’t have that plastic bottom piece in them and I was worried it might not be sturdy enough once I got all my stuff in them. And I had stuff! Multiple 5 pound bags of stuff!

But they did a great job of holding it all together! No sagging and they were very sturdy! I think there was about 15 pounds or more in each one by the time I finished loading them.

And all of this was packed in them:

And all of those bags on the table were at least 5 pounds a piece. Plus the jars and what not.

So when all was said and done, I really liked these bags. They performed much better than I expected and because they’re so cute and compactable, they’ll be my first choice form when I head out shopping!

And it’s such a great and easy way to be a bit more environmentally thoughtful. Using and wasting those plastic bags that only hold a few items, is not only bad for the environment, but such a pain as well. I can normally put 3x more in reusable bags, than I can in plastic bags from the store. As an added benefit, I can also put these over my shoulder, which means less trips out to the car brining my groceries in!

I had the opportunity to review the Lucas diaper bag from Hedvig Bourbon and I can’t say enough about it. I only wish I would have found this sooner! It’s very chic and it looks like something you would find in one of those high end boutiques with a price tag of a few grands. I love the design and the size.
