The Shapes and Color DVD is all about learning shapes and colors and our 16 month old twins are just captivated by this video. They love seeing the bright colors and once in a while when you ask them where the square is they will use their tiny little pointing finger to point out the correct shape. The video names the shapes as they show them so the twins can really learn.. some other similar videos I’ve tested out don’t seem to do this and I often wonder how kids can learn if the name and the shape or number don’t match up. I was quite impress with the Brainy Baby DVD.. and I love that the narrator describes each shape and color very clearly.

The Laugh and Learn DVD starts out with babies wearing silly masks and making funny faces, which our twins tried to mimic.. it was so cute! Then it goes on to colors, shapes, matching, guessing game, alphabets and numbers. It was a longer DVD but I just let it play and the twins would watch for a while then do their own thing and then come back to the TV when something caught their attention. The twins seemed to really enjoy this video, much more than any video we have showed them. They love dancing and laughing at the funny faces so it really keeps them entertained for longer than I thought it would.

I’m definitely a big fan of the Brainy Baby DVDs so far. I’ve told everyone we want anything Brainy Baby for them for Christmas. I would definitely recommend it for anyone who has a little one.

Who better to review a kid’s movie than a kids and they loved it.  Children can watch the DVD and learn new songs, get exercise through dance and learn responsibility.

Chicka Chicka 123 is all about teaching kids to learn the fun way and it also shows a variety of ways we use numbers in our every day life. I turned this in to a very fun event for my twins. Even though they are a little young, they loved it when mommy sang along and they were able to watch those colorful illustrations on the video.

As per both my children listening to the CD at night when they were in bed helped them to relax and unwind better before drifting off to sleep. 1StopMom: I was not sure what to expect but I was ready. I got all the kids together and popped in the cd. For once our house was completely quiet, lol. The voice that came through the speakers was very soft and calm. She started with explaining how to breathe. I thought it may be a little hard to focus but it was not. It is not just listening to someone talk but you are also doing something with your hands. The cd is not very long, it is only about 15 minutes long. All of my kids liked listening to the cd. This cd is only about 15 – 16 minutes long. You mainly listen to a nice, quite, soothing voice. I tried the cd with both my daughters (age 7 & 11). I found it was great during home work time and also at bedtime.

Review: Lullaby Exercises

A few months back I received Lullaby Exercises from Chicks and Chickens. And it sat on my shelf waiting for baby girl to be born. And then it sat some more as I recouped after birth. But this last week I was finally feeling like I needed to move. To get my dairy-aire in gear.You see, I don’t talk about it much anymore since I don’t have a lot of extra time on my hands, but I used to exercise a lot. Everyday as a matter of fact. But now – not so much. Even in the summer I’m lucky if we get out on a walk that’s faster than toddler pace! So I was really interested to see what this DVD was all about.

Lullably Exercises is a very light fitness routine meant for new moms. It features easy to do movements (dancing, swaying, stretching and relaxing) that are done while holding your little baby or having them in a carrier. Seemed like a great way to move around while putting baby to sleep!! And Darci, the “chief chick” came up with the idea after her first baby was born and she started dancing around the house to get him to sleep.

But anyways, a couple days ago, I popped it in the player, put baby in the sling, and told the tot we were gonna exercise. For some reason he got all excited and started jumping around. And then was even more interested when he saw Darci come out and start talking with her little boy. (there’s an intro where she explains the DVD and how it all got started. And then the exercising started. And he turned into this:

Yea. I guess he thought we were watching a movie about chickens and/or babies. So for the first 5 minutes I had to move around him! Once he finally got up and figured out what was going on, he got bored and left me for his trains. About 3 songs in, I almost left too! While the movements don’t seem like much, it sure tired me out! Guess it really is a great way to start getting back in shape after a baby!

And I admit, I totally didn’t do everything. But hey – she kept telling me not to! Which I was actually quite thankful for seeing as how I tend to do way more than I should to soon after birthing. I enjoyed the relaxing sleepy songs at the end immensely though. The music is beautiful and the movements are easy. The end result?

The idea behind this is fabulous! It allows a mom to get some much needed exercise all the while caring for her little babe at the same time. And hopefully, it’ll help me lose those last few pounds! It also comes with a CD so that you can just play the music and move and groove all by yourself.

Moomette’s Magnificents Reviews – I found the music very soothing, and thought it much like “New Age” music. As I live in New England, part of the great megalopolis of the East Coast, the music was soothing enough to remove any instances of road rage that may have been going through my mind! Miscellaneous Finds 4 U - I travel alone, so some of the cues on the CD are not applicable. They’re geared to moms with small kids in the car. It’d be nice if it was changed to more generic chat. Anyway, the mind challenges were fabulous. I suffer from a neurological disorder and memory loss is one of its side affects. Until now, I was unable to remember even 5 items on a list and had no retention of it within 30 minutes. With the technique taught and reinforce on Carpool Karma, I’m able to remember 8 items with fabulous retention. Continue…

The Plus Size Mommy – The exercises it takes you through really help to keep your mind in shape! I really enjoyed this CD. It was invigorating and challenging. I love that it helped me to reduce stress, which I fully believe it did. After driving as much as I do, stress relief is MUCH needed. I have a feeling that I will be listening to this CD a lot! I am hoping it also helps when my children are in the car. Especially in the summertime when school is out and their little minds seem to go on vacation. I am hoping this will keep them in shape so that they will be all ready to start and their minds will be healthier when the next school year starts. Continue…

The Mommy Files – Carpool Karma was fun to listen to and I enjoyed the rhyming activities and sentence building activities. From Melissa’s Desk – Carpool Karma is totally cool! I loved that their were two kinds of exercises offered – mental and physical. The memory games were fun. I enjoyed the rhyming and memorization tracks. The physical exercises really help to reduce stress especially on those extra long trips. Even though this is targeted to moms, my kids enjoyed participating as well. I am going to admit it. Sometimes when my kids are watching t.v. I find myself watching some of their favorite shows with them. There have even been times that the kids go do something else and I am still watching. It only happens with a few shows and iCarly is one of them.

My husband growing up was such a huge fan of Snoopy. I love Snoopy, even the girls love Snoopy! One of our favorite things to do is go to Knotts Berry Farm!

Snoopy’s Reunion Deluxe Edition DVD

What I love about this movie is that you get to meet Snoopy’s siblings! Did you know he had brother’s and sisters? I sure didn’t! It was great to finally learn where Snoopy came from as well!

Peanuts Deluxe Edition of Peanuts: Snoopy’s Reunion , is a heartwarming animated prime time television special that tells the story of Snoopy’s family reunion. Snoopy is homesick for his puppyhood days at the Daisy Hill Puppy Farm, so he and Charlie Brown organize a reunion with his brothers and sisters which include Spike, Andy, Olaf, Marbles, Belle, Molly and Rover. However, when Snoopy and Charlie Brown arrive at the puppy farm, Charlie Brown is aghast to find that urban sprawl has replaced it with a parking garage.
