Review: Epson Artisan 810

The Espon Artisan 810 is a pretty sleek all–in–one printer that has some great features. If you’re like me, you’ll wonder how you lived with out for so long! The 810 features a smart 7.8″ touch panel that lights up and an easy–to–view 3.5″ LCD screen that allows you to preview, edit and print photos, restore faded color photos, print CDs/DVDs, and more without your computer. One of my favorite features is that because of it’s Wi–Fi and Ethernet networking, you can print, scan, and access memory card slots from any room in the house.

The Artisan 810 is perfect for any home, even if you run a business from home because it also offers automatic, two–sided printing so you can save on your paper supply (up to 50%!). And, when you’re in a hurry, you can use the Automatic Document Feeder to quickly copy, fax and scan stacks of documents saving you time.

The Epson 810 is fast too.. it prints 4″ x 6″ photos in about 10 seconds. Print speed specs: 38 ppm, laser quality speeds of 9.1 ppm black and 9.1 ppm in color.

It also includes other innovative features for creating one–of–a–kind projects like coloring book pages and notepaper using your own photos. Through the e–Print and Print–and–Share applications available on the iTunes^® App^SM store, you can print everything from business documents and PDF files to amazing photos, photo calendars and more. AND, you can even use it to charge your cell phone, MP3 player or other portable device without tying up an additional power outlets! I couldn’t believe it either but right now I’m using it to charge my cell phone.. pretty nifty huh!

Once thing I always check out is the ink cartridge specs. How much do they cost? Do I purchase each color separately or what? With the 810 there are six individual ink cartridges to give you control over ink usage. When you need to replace a cartridge, you can simply replace only the cartridge you need! Claria ink is also available in high–capacity cartridges to accommodate higher volume print needs, giving you about 60% more prints than with the standard–capacity cartridges. And the ink cartridges seem fairly decently priced which is great.

The Artisan 810 also comes with a two–year limited warranty and free lifetime customer phone support with registration.

The only complaint I had was that the printer doesn’t seem to like business card paper. I don’t know if this is a feeder issue but it ate more business card paper than it printed. I like to buy my business cards anyway, so this wouldn’t affect my decision to purchase the printer.
