Review: iHome Audio Clock Radio & Audio System for iPhone & iPod

According to my husband, a proud iPod owner, this iHome Audio Clock Radio & Audio System is the best on the market, especially for the price.

I asked him if he’d like to write the review for me since he hasn’t backed away from it for 5 minutes since they sent us to one review… but his reply was “Well then it will take away from my play time”. haha. He really does love this thing and is now a big fan of iHome audio products.

Luckily when he went to work I had the opportunity to check it our for myself and see what the big hype was. I have to admit.. it is pretty cool and any iPod or iPhone owner would love it as well, in my opinion.

This audio system comes with the iHome iP9 itself, a remote control, an AC power adapter, and a docking insert to fit your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPod Nano. Yes, even the older iPod styles!

I think one of our favorite things about the iP9 is the speakers. At first glance I wasn’t sure how the quality of the speakers would be just because of the speaker size as well as the price of the iP9… but after hooking it up and listening to a few tracks from our iPod, I can verify that the sound quality is exceptional and clear!

My other favorite thing is the dual alarm clocks. With dual alarm clocks you can set two different times to wake up to.. so say for instance, you need to wake up at 6 a.m. for a feeding but your partner doesn’t have to be up until 7:30 a.m., no problem with the iP9! Just set the alarm times and you’re good to go! I love this because I don’t have to reset the alarm every morning… just great!

Oh, and another good thing about the alarm is that it’s not one of those blaring sounds right off the bat, you know when it first goes off.. the alarm gradually increases in sound so there is no starteling first thing in the morning.

My husband loved how easy it was to set up.. there is no adjusting the clock or anything like that.. you simply set your time zone and it sets itself automatically.

Overall this is a super great product for it’s price. I’m sure there are other brands out there that offer more needless options but those will come with a much higher price tag. The iHome iP9 retails for only $99, available in different color options, and is great for any iPhone or iPod owner. Keep this one your list for gift ideas, you won’t regret it!
