Preggie Pops from Three Lollies Review

July 2, 2009

This review for Three Lollies Preggie Pops was written by Mom Fuse “Mommy Reviewer” Amy, from Coffee With The Mrs. Since Amy is halfway through her pregnancy, we thought she would be the perfect candidate for Preggie Pops!

If there is one thing about this pregnancy that has really taken it’s toll on me, it would have to be the so-called “morning sickness” I experienced during the first trimester. I was literally living on Saltines and Ginger ale. After a while, that gets very old and I wished that something else could help that tasted a little better.

preggiepops1Thank goodness for Preggie Pops and Preggie Pop Drops from Three Lollies. Not only are these delicious but they almost immediately helped calm my nausea.

The Preggie Pops are suckers that come in a box. I was able to sample their variety pack. The flavors included in this pack are Peppermint, Spearmint, Lavender, Ginger, Sour Lemon, Sour Tangerine, and Sour Raspberry. I tried every one of them (on different days of course) and did not find a flavor I didn’t like; even with my sensitive stomach.

The Preggie Pop Drops are individually wrapped drops that also come in a variety of flavors. I was able to sample the sour fruit container. The flavors included are Sour Raspberry, Green Apple, Sour Lemon, and Sour Tangerine. I found the Pop Drops to be my favorite choice to use since they popped right into my mouth and my toddler son had no idea what I was eating.

So what makes Preggie Pops work for nausea? Here’s an answer to that question from the website:

Childbirth educators have historically recommended sour flavored pops for labor because they were perceived to be less likely to exacerbate queasy stomachs. Lavender has been widely used in aroma therapy for relaxation and sometimes for upset stomach as well. Mint has long been used in both oral and aroma therapies for upset tummies. Ginger is an ancient remedy for tummy troubles and research shows that mint has been used for over a hundred years.

We use the natural essences from these sources to flavor our Preggie Pops. For nausea caused by hypoglycemia, even the sugar and corn syrup in our pops can be effective. In fact even the mode of delivery is therapeutic as only a small amount is delivered to the stomach at a time. So, part of why Preggie Pops work rests on where your morning sickness is coming from, which is still rather poorly understood. The overwhelming response from our customers is that our special formulation does work for most women.

I can honestly say these do work to help ease nausea. I am one very happy, pregnant mama. I’m also a huge fan of the natural ingredients that go into making Preggie Pops. (Brown Rice Syrup, Evaporated Cane Juice, Citric Acid, Natural Flavors (made with essential oils), and Natural Colors.)

Great review! I have four kids and I loved preggie pops in all of my pregnancies. They really helped with the nausea. I liked the Ginger and Lavender flavors best. It’s really a great product.
