“The Platinum Brewing System is Keurig’s best single-cup brewing system for your home. This premium model offers discerning coffee drinkers the widest range of five cup size options for brewing.” – Keurig.com
Well, jigga jigga bitta bitta boota bootsy boo.
Don’t understand what I just wrote? Me neither. All I know is that for the last three weeks I’ve been having “tourette’s-like” outburst of ramblings and mumblings, all due to the new caffeine addiction I’ve formed since being offered to review the Keurig Platinum Brewing System.
Aside from the occasional English-word memory lapse, THIS THING IS AWESOME!!!! For those who have considered administering coffee through an IV, this is the closest you can come legally.

Let’s rewind to about a month or so ago, before I enjoyed fresh brewed coffee for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and midnight snack. I was the type of person that only drank coffee at parties, maybe a few occasional mornings when I was working in the corporate world. But I was never one of those people that couldn’t function without the daily dose, never desired coffee, never even drank it at home. You know why? Because I couldn’t make it. I always had a coffee maker in my home, we used it when we had gatherings, that was it. My stepmother is a coffee freak and she was the one that would get the pot of coffee ready at parties, I don’t even know where we keep the filters, it was that unimportant.
Honestly, now…I don’t know how I functioned without coffee being the start of my daily routine. The Keurig Platinum Brewing system has brought joy (and jitters) into my life. It’s incredibly easy to use, the coffee tastes amazing, and it looks great on my counter top. Here are some features (from the site) of the Keurig single-cup Platinum Brewing System:
Let me break ‘em down for you…
With the five available cup sizes you can not only prepare the obvious different size cups of coffee, but this also allows you to tweak how strong your coffee is. The standard setting is 6 oz., if you brew a smaller cup you will have a stronger coffee, if you shoot for the 8 or 10 oz. you will have a more watered down cup of coffee (which is where I should have started!). Also, since there is a setting to brew cold drinks, like iced tea or iced coffee, you can use the larger size setting for those. This especially good for the flavor junkies like me that want to add lots of cream, sweeteners and syrups. The smallest size, 4 oz., is perfect for brewing hot cocoa, especially if you like a richer chocolatey taste.
The removable reservoir is the next feature. It holds 60 oz. of water, which you refill when the level gets too low. Using filtered water is recommended, but I don’t see that using regular tap water would be a problem if that’s what you prefer. The fact that it is removable not only makes washing it a breeze, but it makes filling it easy as well. I have a water filter that is attached to the inside of my fridge, so I just carry it over and fill it up. You can also fill it while it’s attached to the unit, simply by pouring from a cup or a water filter pitcher. Keurig also sells a water filter that can be attached to the unit for only $17.95 + the cost of the filters. This is a great option for those who don’t have a filtering system in their home. After each brewing, a few ounces of the water fills into the back of the unit to prepare for the next cup. In less than a minute, the water is heated and ready to be brewed again. Now everyone could have their preferred cup of java, no more waste, no more mess!
I haven’t messed around with the programmable features yet, but you can set the brewer to a timer so that your coffee is sitting there waiting for you to chug it in the morning. This is a great feature for people that are on-the-go in the morning, it’s even a nice little surprise for the husband when he’s leaving for work. Place a travel mug under the unit at night, and grab it and go on your way to work. Much easier and cheaper than stopping at your local coffee shop every morning, no?
Ok, so just how easy is it? Check it out……………………………that easy. Yes, in the time it took me to right that sentence, I could have had a fresh cup of coffee. Which I think I might go do since I mentioned it, lol. Seriously though, you turn the brewer on, wait about 30 seconds for the water to heat up, put the K-Cup in the top of the unit, place your cup, choose your size, hit “Brew” and you’re done.
Ahh..the K-Cups! All hail the mighty K-Cups! These little cups of heaven are the link between having just hot water and having an outrageous tasting cup of fresh brewed coffee in under a minute. No matter what type of coffee you prefer, you can find it in a K-Cup variety. From dark roast Italian Coffee to sweet French Vanilla, herbal teas, hot cocoa, decaf, Colombian, and so on and so on. The options are endless. Ok, not endless, but definitely enough to satisfy even the most coffee savvy people like my stepmother. For those of you that are familiar with coffee brands, I’m sure these names will be music to your ears….
K-Cups are available in a wide variety of flavors and roasts from companies such as:
K-Cups are available at Keurig.com along with many other online retailers such as Amazon and Green Mountain Coffee. I’ve even heard that you can snag a few boxes of K-Cups at Walmart now! The K-Cups come in packages containing as little as 5 (sample packs) and up to 80 (value packs) cups and they sell for around $13 each.
The Keurig Platinum Brewing System retails for $169.95. Other models are available, some cheaper, some more expensive (for office use). And for the real junkies, Keurig offers Gift Certificates (my 30th B-day is coming up in less than 3 weeks, just saying!) and they even have a Coffee Club with benefits such as discounted K-Cups and points you can redeem towards a new brewer.
One lucky Mom Fuse reader will be receiving the Keurig Platinum Brewing System thanks to Keurig.com. A retail value of $169.95 but worth a lot more to a true coffee lover, just think of all the money you will be saving! The winner will also choose any four boxes of K-Cups ($55 value) to go along with their shiny new brewer!

You Must: Visit Keurig.com and take a look at all the K-Cup varieties they offer. Come back here and tell us which one you would choose if you were to win. More than one favorite? List up to four, we know it could be hard to choose just one!

Tried to log in & it said I needed to click the activation link in an email from them. Never received an email. I have contacted them via email & am awaiting a response. Don’t know if the problem will be resolved before the giveaway deadline though.
