Fab Find: Save Our Summer Vacation

With the economy the way it is right now and money tight around the belt, many people are choosing not to go on vacation this summer. For those of you that are making those choices, I can relate.

One of my husband’s family member (a dad of 4 children) once told the family “babies aren’t expensive”. I’m not quite sure what he’s smoking.. but I beg to differ. We’ve spent more money since the twins have been born than I’ve probably spent my entire life.

I would love to take off with the family and enjoy a nice vacation somewhere. Someone recently asked me what I would do with $10,000 to go on vacation with. If our twins weren’t so young and would actually remember a fun trip to Disney World or something I would enjoy a great vacation there, but since they are so young I would probably take my husband on a second honeymoon. This would be great for us since we have a tough time trying to find time to spend together. With him working nights he sleep during the day when the kids and I are awake, and a night when he’s wide awake we’re sleeping. So my dream vacation would be to get a family member to watch the children for about a week and then I’d take my husband on a 2nd honeymoon where we would enjoy some great night out dinners, visit places we’ve never been before, lay around a pool and just enjoy the time together without worrying about how much money we’ve spent or saved.
