Have you noticed that everywhere you look it seems like someone is tapping away on their iPod Touch or iPhones. Well, did you know that these little electronic smartys aren’t just for making calls and/or listening to music anymore? These days there is so much more you can do with then and we’ve put together a list of some cool Apps you can use for your iPod Touch or iPhone that will benefit and entertain everyone in the family.

Baby Monitor App – Monitor your sleeping baby with this iPhone App. Simply place the iPhone near your sleeping baby, if it detects noise, it places a phone call to the number of your choice, you can then listen in for activity from your baby (monitor has unlimited range). Great for when you are on the go or traveling, no need to pack your regular baby monitor.

Hi moms – I am a mom of 2 under 2 (6 and 22 months) and a proud owner of a iPhone.
I also just launched an iPhone app for moms called Baby Brain. It was featured in Forbes and is getting great reviews.

I have 2 girls (4 and 6) and they are just IN LOVE with the “Kid Songs Kwiz Game”. It’s like a “name that tune” for little ones, and it keeps them busy in traffic (which is the biggest selling point of all). Just thought I would share. I’ll include a link below.

Another iPhone/iPod touch app for parents is “Grounded” by RagingFjord.
For the parent with a lot going on their lives (or with a large brood), sometimes it’s hard to keep track of everything we promise to the kids. That goes for keeping track of how long they’re grounded, too!

I wrote a simple app for my sister-in-law to help her with nursing her new baby. It
tracks nursing times and I think it is unique among existing apps because it sends a reminder X minutes since your last feeding to help keep the baby on a schedule.

We’ve just launched a food label scanning app that allows you to scan bar-codes and view the allergen, additive, ingredient and nutrient properties of the label. You can also compare labels side by side.
Not just relevant for mom’s and parents but anyone who wants to know what’s in the food they eat.
