Mom Sense, LLC was formed in 2007 to bring No Slip Charlie™ to parents of infants everywhere. No Slip CharlieTM was created by Kim Shulman to solve a problem she experienced every time she or her husband bathed their infant son, Charlie. He was so slippery and squirmy in the tub and they were worried that they would drop him during his bath or while lifting him out of the tub. A book suggested using a sock with a hole cut out for the thumb, however, this was very awkward and the sock would become heavy and soaked – leaving dangerous puddles on the bathroom floor. Kim knew that there had a to be a better way to get a good grip on the baby without such awkwardness and mess. She frequently wore her tankini top while bathing Charlie because holding him after the bath left her very wet as well. She noticed one day that his slippery little body stopped on the swimsuit fabric when she held him. AH HA This was the beginning of the No Slip CharlieTM, Mom Sense, and a new adventure for Kim, David, and Charlie Shulman.
No-Slip Charlie Review by Leeanne @ HappyMommy3
I’d like to say after 3 kids that I’m a pro, ya know been there done that a million times. Let’s face it though, no matter how many times you bath your kids, they are going to be just as slippery today as they were yesterday. Wet babies are slippery lil boogers.
Have I ever dropped my kids, absolutely NOT….have I come close? You betcha. When taking my kids out of the tub I use extra special caution and focus everything on what I am doing. Your hands are slippery and wet and so are your precious little ones. Accidents can happen to the most “professional” “been there done that a million times” kind of people.
So I was given the opportunity from Mom Fuse and No-Slip Charlie to try out a pair of No-Slip Charlie’s just in the nick of time. Last week we had a close one with my lil Isabel, as I was trying to wrap her in the towel after her bath, she started to slip. I quickly got her wrapped in the towel and I am happy to say, NO ACCIDENTS.
Now I have no worries with this cool pair of No-Slip Charlie. Basically it is a finger(tip)less pair of gloves with Velcro on it to attach a wash-glove. I think this is a great idea. I tried it out last night and I was very pleased.
You slip on the gloves and then the wash cloth. Bath your kids and when you are done just remove the cloth and take your child out of the tub.
I would like to say the only con is that there is only Velcro on one side of the glove and wash cloth. It kinda felt like the cloth was going to fall off and every few seconds I caught myself adjusting and pulling it back on. I mean it stayed on really well were it was Velcro’d but on the side there wasn’t any, it was slipping off.
The Velcro is only used with the cloth when bathing your child so it doesn’t take away from the real purpose of the fingerless gloves. That is the part that worked great when I pulled my lil one out of the tub.
Overall I was very pleased with the No-Slip Charlie.
