Baby Bjorn Plate And Spoon Set

We are at the stage where we are finally starting to feed our twins baby food and infant cereal. They are also trying to use a spoon by themselves and seem very interested in learning to eat independently so I was really excited to get to try out the Plate and Spoon Set by Baby Bjorn.

The spoon set from Baby Bjorn comes with two different colored spoons and a plate (or bowl). The spoons we received were red and blue in color. The spoons are short and have an easy grip handle that works with the child’s motor skills. They can also be used by both left-handed and right-handed children which is great because you don’t have to worry about it not fitting right in your child’s hands.

The spoons seemed a little big for our 7 month old twins but they will be perfect for children a little older. Our twins are teething as well and the hard plastic the spoons are made of and the curved edges of the spoons allow them to chomp on and rub across their gums without destroying the spoons or leaving any marks or scratches on them.

The bowl is a cute design, the style is very trendy and it is oddly shaped to help your little one feed himself. The handle and funky shape of the bowl (or plate) helps to make it easier for your little one to scoop up their food.  It’s very sturdy and didn’t tip over when my daughter started smacking the edges. This is an awesome attribute because it’s no fun cleaning up those messes when a bowl is accidentally tipped over. It’s also weighted down so your little one can’t pick up the plate and turn it over or throw it on the floor like my son likes to do! He was very unhappy to find this out! It was adorable though because he started grunting and you could tell he was really trying to pick it up. Our last plastic bowl we used he did manage to get a hold of and decided to pour the food all over his head.  It was not fun for me during cleanup but he seemed to have a good time! So I’m really liking this Plate and Spoon Set because it will save me some hassle in the future!

Another great thing about this plate and spoon set is that is it microwave and dishwasher safe. There is a label that warns you not to to exceed 194 degrees.

Overall I think this is a great item to have. It’s definitely a keeper but I would suggest using it for children who are a little older just because of the size of the spoons.
