Mighty Putty and Mighty Gemit Review

Having four kids in the house almost guarantees that something is going to be broken. And believe me, we have definitely had our share. When the opportunity was presented to us to try Mighty Putty I thought sure, why not? Mighty Putty is a type of bonding epoxy that you can mold into any shape. You can even sand or paint it.

When it came in the mail I could not wait to try it out. I opened the tube, cut off a piece of the epoxy and started kneading it in my hands. It began to turn from green to white. Once it turns white it is ready to use. I grabbed a picture frame to put on the wall. It did not stick. I tried again and it still did not stick. I was a little disappointed.

When my husband came home I told him it did not work. He wanted to try it. First he put on the glove that is included in the box. If you do that your fingertips will not turn white like mine did. My husband kneaded it for a little over three minutes. He wanted to make sure the epoxy was completely activated. He grabbed a bulletin board to put on the wall and it worked! It stuck for him with no problems. I am thinking that I did not knead it long enough. That is why it did not work for me. We also filled a few holes in the wall with it. My husband even put some on the leaky pipe in the kids bathroom. So far so good. It has been a few days and the bulletin board is still up and the pipe is not leaking. The only complaint I have is there is a slight odor to the epoxy. I only noticed it while my husband was kneading it. I did not smell it after it dried completely.

In my opinion Mighty Putty does work when you follow the directions. I plan on finding more stuff around the house to try out on.

There was a bonus in our box of Mighty Gemit. Mighty Gemit is an adhesive you can use with glitter or rhinestones to add bling to shirts, jeans or purses. Since I don’t do much “blinging” I let Jazz have it. She said she liked it. She used the gems that came in the box to decorate her book bag. She has plans to use it on a skirt with some glitter.
