A Fodeo is a custom DVD made from your digital photos, set to music. It’s a wonderful way to do something special with all those digital photos that are piling up!
Creating a Fodeo is super-simple! You start off by registering for an account. Then you must choose 30 photos, decide on a title, a song (any song), and let Fodeo know what kind of event the photos illustrate, and that’s it! They do all the dirty work for you! You you don’t have to sit at the computer for hours editing photos or figuring out how to make your own montage just right. Fodeo has a team of highly-qualified film or tv grad that use special software, and their own creativity, to make a unique video just for you.
After registering, you have the option of either uploading photos right away, or ordering a memory card to use with your camera. If you upload the photos there is no shipping cost, but if you request a memory card, it costs an additional $4.99. I think this is worth it if you’re not too good with computers or don’t want to spend the time uploading photos. You can load photos you already have onto the card, or you can pop the card into your camera to take photos at an upcoming event, and send them in that way.
You don’t get the memory card back, because to keep costs down Fodeo reuses the memory cards over and over again. But no worries about losing your photos – they put ALL of them in a folder on the DVD, which you can easily open with a computer. The basic Fodeo uses 30 photos, but you have the option of adding more to your montage if you’d like, by ordering additional chapters.
Processing takes about two weeks, so you still have plenty of time to get a Fodeo done by Valentine’s Day! It would be a sweet, thoughtful gift for your significant other, grandma and grandpa, or just about any loved one! This would also be a great gift for new parents, or just for you to capture the memories from the holidays, a vacation, birthday, or any other special moment in your life.
