For me, like many many others, coffee is not just a morning beverage to get one going…for coffee lovers, it’s all about the flavor of the bean itself ( i guess we’re like wine tasters, in a sense) and for coffee fanatics nothing beats a press for brewing – the flavor is pure and bold.
This particular press from Bodum avoids the metallic taste of a percolator…and it avoids the watered down flavor of an automatic coffee maker. Leaving you with a rich, flavorful coffee. Having regularly used coffee press’ from other companies, i can tell you that the only drawback of using one was that the coffee tended to not stay very hot…THIS Crema press from Bodum clearly addresses that problem – the metal band and the flat surface of the maker keep the coffee so much hotter than other brands I’ve tried in the past. The Crema press is also easy and quick to use. No funny contraptions to deal with. Simple. Easy.
An added plus in these economic times is that one can so quickly brew a most perfect cup of java for a fraction of the cost of buying a cup at the local cafe or chain coffee shop. For those who like ”specialty” coffees it’s also so easy to just sprinkle a bit of cinnamon (or your flavor of choice) on the grinds and voila! a flavored coffee, again , at a fraction of the cost of flavored beans.
For those who might be reluctant to spend $60.00 and up for a coffee press, keep in mind that a quality cup of coffee costs $2.00 and up at cafes and restaurants, so this Bodum will quickly pay for itself.
